MAZONIA BASS HUNTERS 2015 SCHEDULE, RULES, LIABILITY RELEASE, COVENANT AND WAIVER (Updated - 8/16/2015)

2015 SEASON

CLASSIC:
OCTOBER 3rd and 4th


GENERAL:

1.         1 – 2 fishermen per boat.
2.         Tournaments begin at 6:30 AM and end at 3:00 PM.
3.         Check-in / Register by 6:15AM.
4.         Check-in for weigh-in before 3:10 PM.  May send one man to check-in if still in the water.  Check in with official at table.  Waves from vehicles will not count.  It is your responsibility to make sure you are on the check-in list before the deadline.  Official may, at times, make rounds to double check who has registered fish.
5.         $10.00 Big Bass per boat (optional).
6.         ALWAYS:  Meet at Ranger Station / Mazonia North for check-in.  Weigh-in held at Carp and Gar Lake parking lot / Mazonia North.
7.         Payout:  15% goes to CLASSIC.  100% of rest is paid out one every five entries.  Minimum of 3 payouts.  $1.00 of Big Bass entry goes to CLASSIC Big Bass pot.
8.         Qualifying for CLASSIC:  Must fish 4 of 6 tournaments to qualify.  May pay for missed tournaments at end of season if short.
9.         LAKES:  North – Bass, Goose, Bullhead, Carp and Gar.
South - Ponderosa, Eagle, Monster and three small lakes on North     side of road starting across from Monster and proceeding East just past Eagle.  These three lakes are in a row.
10.       CASH ONLY day of tournament.

RULES:

1.         ALL boats must meet State of Illinois and U.S. Coast Guard safety regulations.
2.         All live wells and coolers will be checked before tournament.
3.         Spinning and casting rods and reels with artificial bait only.  NO TROLLING ALLOWED.
4.         An aerated live well or aerated cooler is required for all boats.  NO fish will be placed on a stringer, in a basket or sock.  Disqualification will result.
5.         Scoring will be by total weight.  Bass must be at least 15” in length.  3 fish per team only.
6.         SHORT FISH:  Short fish does not count and team will lose their big fish weight as well, effective for the 6/13/2015 tournament and hereafter.
7.         DEAD FISH:  8 oz., or .50 lb. deduction.
8.         LATE PENALTY:  Disqualification will result if not checked in before 3:10 pm.  The tournament director monitors official time.  Please sync your timepieces accordingly.  You are responsible for keeping track of time for checking in.  If in doubt, get in early.
9.         All claims of fouls, rules violations or mistakes must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the end of tournament.  After 30 minutes, or 3:40 pm, decisions will be final. Fouls are rules violations committed within the tournament. The tournament official’s decision will be final on all controversies. 
10.       All contestants must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Written permission and signed release from parent required for youth under 18 years of age fishing with friend.
11.       Ties for total weight will split the winnings.
12.       No pond hopping, only ramp-to-ramp.
13.       Bump fish – Mouth closed first then tail pinched.
14.       ALL weighed in fish must be returned to the lakes that they were caught.
15.       Rules of the Mazonia State Fish and Wildlife area must be followed.
16.       By registering for the tournaments, you agree to the liability release and covenant not to sue and waiver of subrogation (see below).  This is for every tournament of Mazonia Bass Hunters.
17.        Teams may watch weighing of fish but in no way may interfere with bumping of fish by tournament official, which will result in disqualification.  Tournament official rulings are final.
18.        It is up to teams to have copies of the rules and understand them. They can be viewed and downloaded on the tournament website: www.mazoniabasshunters.com.  Direct question to tournament officials beforehand.  Ignorance of the rules is not a defense for violating them.

MAZONIA BASS HUNTERS: Mazonia Bass Hunters refers in all rules, statements, liability releases, waivers and covenants to the tournament, its directors, agents, officials, employees and sponsors.

LIABILITY RELEASE:  In registering for any tournament of Mazonia Bass Hunters (MBH), I hereby release MBH and any of its officials, agents, employees and sponsors from all damages, claims, demands, costs and expenses relating to injury to any persons or any property which I may sustain or which I may cause by reason of participating in this tournament.  I understand that by participating in this tournament that I may cause or sustain injury including, but not limited to: loss of life, paralysis, coma, loss of mental functions, loss of sight, loss of speech / smell, dehydration, exposure, hypothermia, frostbite, electrocution, sunstroke, and any other injury that may be caused in a boating accident and/or exposure to the elements.  I further release Mazonia Bass Hunters for damages relating to adverse weather conditions while participating in this tournament.  It is my responsibility to seek safety should adverse or unforeseen weather conditions occur prior to, during or after the tournament.

COVENANT NOT TO SUE and WAIVER OF SUBROGATION:  I further agree that I will never sue Mazonia Bass Hunters for damages on account of any injury, death or damages I suffer or cause whether known now or which may develop in the future.  In the event Mazonia Bass Hunters are sued because of my action, I expressly agree to indemnity and hold Mazonia Bass Hunters, its directors, officials, etc., harmless from any liability whatsoever, including court costs and attorney fees arising with respect to such actions.  I understand that in waiving my rights to sue Mazonia Bass Hunters, I am also waiving the rights of recovery from Mazonia Bass Hunters of my insurance carrier for any claims they pay on my behalf.
